Go back and look at that pic of brians truck, the lift actually adds almost no lift at all because the lift height is negated by the weight of the sliders, bumpers and winch.
the only reason for the lift is to carry the weight not raise the truck. This is the best set up for most people IMHO and one of the best ways to run a D1. This yeilds a truck that will go lots of places and will also not tear its self apart.
If you are new to disco's this is about the best way I can think of to start out and learn to off road. You dont need lockers you dont need HD rear shafts or hd Cv's. This simple set up will protect the body and allow you to learn to drive the truck and learn the dynamics of weight transfer and traction.
Almost every newbie that comes on wants to know "what first" that pic is a damn good example of where to go first. there is always time to go with ARB's and all the rest of the candy, but starting low ,safe and simple will actually be alot more fun.
I'm not new to offroading, shit fire guys i'm just want to put some rough tires on a hunting truck. I never thought it would get all the way down to you guys telling me what i'm doing is wrong, the spacers are not wrong for me, maybe you and your moab trips but not me. All i want is a good looking bunting truck thats reliable. if i want to go big places i would take my other toy http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f311/BT93/003-1.jpg
