Sorry for the long post! 01 discovery 2, 44k miles, old lady owned. Vehicle sat for 8yrs prior. I got it and replaced the battery at that point and had trouble with the hazards not turning off. Problem disappeared on its own after replacing the battery. So I thought I had this problem corrected, but alas it reappeared last night while dimming my lights. Flashers came on and wouldn't go off. I disconnected the battery and reconnected the battery to stop the flashing and left it alone. This morning I started up the disco with no issues or flashing. In an attempt to recreate the problem by turning on the headlights and dimming them it reappeared immediately. With the lights flashing and the vehicle running and doors closed if I press the cdl up or down the horn gives a short honk and locks do nothing....(sometimes, other times they function ) Someone has to know what's going on here. I've checked the connections and interior of all of the modules under the passenger side dash they are clean and no sign of corrosion. I've pulled the interior and exterior fuse boxes and checked each wire and fuse connection and they are free of corrosion as well. I've pulled all earth points and cleaned, there was no corrosion at any point. Pulled the turn signal switch and checked connections inside and out, no corrosion. Pulled the hazard switch and had the same. I bypassed the inertia switch momentarily with no effect, unplugged the bonnet switch and also no change in condition. It hasn't rained in a week or so and no electronics or wiring is wet/damp. The vehicle starts and runs fine, the horn works, all electrical functions of the vehicle work with the exception of the remote unlock. The fob battery is good and I have radio signal transmission from the fob but I'm assuming the receiver is bad. What on earth would the problem be with the hazards? Any help is appreciated!
