I like this style chair for camping. It does not pack away like other smaller foldable chairs, but they?re sturdy and comfortable and I like the table for things.

A buddy of mine uses one of those style chairs with the side table for camping. My wife & I were on vacation a couple weeks ago and the owners of the house we rented had a few of those chairs for the beach. The table is really convenient, but like you said they don't really fold for shit.

I'm not one of these assholes with a $200 chair but have had plenty of the $10 variety shit out on me. The rivet or joints on the legs always shear off. I picked up a sturdier one a few years back (with metal joints) for $30 or so and wish I'd have bought 5

I've never seen a "camp chair" that beats a simple folding lawn chair. If I'm bringing a chair, I'm bringing a vehicle, and if I'm bringing a vehicle, I've got plenty of room for a lawn chair.

Cheers,

Kennith

Those camp chairs ARE my lawn chairs.
And I shit in a bucket on the front porch.
But it has a lid, so it doesn't stink or anything.

I have these - Blue Ridge chair. I bought them at a small off road event just outside Asheville, NC maybe 8-9 years ago. The guy was just starting out and was selling a handful there at the event. So I bought a few. I really like them - they fold flat, sturdy and look pretty good. Made in NC too. I only use them for car camping, tail gating, etc of course, but when I am on my bike I have a smaller REI chair - it's ok. Not nearly as comfortable as the Blue Ridge chairs.

Super nice guy and we chatted for quite some time as he was familiar with some of the big rivers in PA I had spent a lot of time on - camping, paddling, etc.

Looks like they are continuing to focus on just chairs/tables, which is good to see. No stoves, tents, puffy $900 jackets or chop sticks. Just chairs. EDIT: Scratch that - I see they make a wooden bottle opener. Fuck.

$150-$280 for lawn chairs? $150 for a folding table? That sounds a little snow peaky to me.

I'll justify paying more for items that are: Made in the US/local and they are of very good quality/workmanship as compared to other similar products. SnowPeak can't justify either of those. Now if BlueRidge started selling $1,300 tents, $900 bi-curious men's jackets and $45 coffee mugs - well I'd have to reassess my decisions.

It also helped my decision that I was camping next to the dude for a weekend that actually made my chairs.

Ha! I saw that chair at Ikea for $45. I remember looking at it and thinking it was a Kermit chair lookalike.

I'm not a fan of those lowrider chairs. They're great for the beach, but not camping. I have some of those dope Tommy Bahama lowrider chairs from Costco with all the annex pockets for your cell phone, beer, trash, and they even have a soft cooler built in. And backpack straps. Love the backpack straps. I busted the first two 4 years in due to dry rot/sun damage, but the Costco return policy replaced them for free. Now I have minty fresh douchebag lowrider chairs.

And $270 for that Highlander chair? LOL.

I'm not against paying big money for a chair. I have several chairs in my home that were used when I bought them and they still cost thousands of dollars. $150+ for a folding chair is big money. Funny to see the double standard here - you'll never catch me spending $150 for a folding chair.

I've been using the same Kelty folding camp chair for about a dozen years now. I prefer the chairs that collapse into a cylinder and pack away in a nylon bag. They are easy to pack away in the back of the Disco or just stuff into the rear footwell. Same with my Coleman aluminum table that rolls up into a compact cylinder.

So what you're saying is you like long, round things. Interesting.
