yeah layoff the kid guys..

My first car was crap but that does NOT make me jealous of some rich parents trying to take care of their kid. When my daughter gets her license, I'd want her in a very safe vehicle too. So what? As long as she gets it right in the head, knows the value of money, etc.

Even though there is a curfew, to this day I have never known of a single person who has been pulled over for curfew. When the opportunity arrises its no big deal to be driving at 1 in the morning. My curfew for home is 12 and every once in a while when I have to drop some people off I wont get home till 12:30 and have never had a problem. Also, I have a high school parking tag in the window and a license plate that says stash.

I would like to know what your parents pay in insurance on such a "safe" vehicle? I think that there are cheaper safer vehicles on the road that a LR3. I would say it is probably too much of a vehicle for some younger drivers, but I was driving semis by the time I was 16. So the only thing that I think is to buy it for safety is a little silly. Taking it offroading will probably put you in more danger.

I can't image the insurance on a LR3 with a teenage primary driver. Yikes. I would put my teenager in a safe car. I drove an old state patrol car in high school and then bought an FJ40. Both purchased by me.

I also think that an LR3 can be big vehicle for some young drivers. Just watch the news and see all the teens who crash. Then again, I was driving semis around construction sites by the time I was 16.
