I tossed the rear and got disconnect for the front. Alothough for a while I didn't have any in the front either, which wasn't too bad.

I took mine off and I only notice them not being on the truck during hard breaking from highway type speeds.. Gets a little scary doing emergency avoidance maneuvers on the highway without them... However, if you have longer travel shocks you're front drive shaft may hit your front swaybar during axle drop..

If you do take them off I would suggest keeping them in case you need to put them back on at a later date to pass a safety inspection if inspector is a stickler for detail. I've never had an issue with that but, I have heard some folks have..

Plenty on this topic if you search.

I got disconnects for the front and rear. Decided to just go ahead and remove the rear. It drives fine for me. I imagine that if you drive like a maniac it would be quite dangerous. As long as you are aware of how it drives differently, you should be fine.

I believe older rovers, like range rover classics didn't even have sway bars. I could be wrong on that. I've had my rear one off completely for almost a year now and I have yet to have any problems.

Didn't say what year the truck was but, those don't look like they would work on a D1.. I never noticed the sway bars on the D2 were in front of the front axle.. Wonder if those could be retrofitted onto a D1..

Trail rig mostly, remove 'em

Daily driver mostly, keep 'em and maybe get disconnects from Dave Lucas

If you are hauling kids and on the highway mostly, definitely keep them

I have a '95. Tooke them off in '97. Rig is pretty much trail only now.

If I were to do it again, I'd keep them and get disconnects.

take off the rear,it will drive fine. then make some disconnects for the front. try slick rock fab, or get some jks and modify them. if you get jks,use the ones with the pin in the middle(you'll understand when you see them).

your signature doesn't say where you live.
In a panic stop on a highway, or on a twisted mountain road, you may regret taking off the sway bars. At the very least, if your disco still rides on the stock springs, don't do it.

I'd at least recommend keeping them for a year or two to make sure that you like it. It will not handle as good and if you ever tow anything will make a huge difference.

Rip 'em off and throw them in the scrap steel bin.

Thats basically what I did. I just needed to know that I wasn't going to kill my self. My brother, who wheels 4runners, told me that was the most stupid thing I could do to my rover.
