I just got my CO2 tank from the beveragefactory. Is there anything wrong with painting it? Also, I know the label says not to, but is it ok to remove it? I wasn't sure if it was an enforced law or just like a mattress tag.

I dont know who would really care, but you should not mess with the label. For what its worth, telling someone their mattress has some flammable parts, and destroying a tag on a cylinder that can easily be a deadly projectile, dont really equal each other in my eyes. I dont see where you CANT paint it, just paint around the warning and hide it on the 'non' visible side when you mount the tank?

Over here, the reason why tanks are not painted is because their exterior color corresponds to whatever it is they have inside of them.

If you're not going to put anything in it that's for human consumption (e.g. hospital oxygen), I don't see a big reason not to paint it. I don't really like taking labels off, but that's prolly just me. :)

You may have a problem re-filling it if it's missing the label. Call the place where you will get it re-filled and ask.
