Seriously.

Aren't most of the people complaining about the speed of their work, for stuff done in their shop? I bought something small from them once, and I got it pretty fast.

Two trusted sources told me that getting their items delivered in a timely manner was akin to pulling teeth.

They also reported that communication was excellent right up until payment was received.

In the winter here in the NW I just slide a piece of cardboard in front of half the radiator. Its nice to have heat before i get to work. And by some act of god my seat heaters still work.

Speed: It is slow, but so was the worn V8/auto that was in there before. The V8 cruised better at high speeds - it was quieter and more relaxing. Acceleration is somewhat similar after tweaking the injection pump (but I'm comparing auto vs manual and worn vs fresh engines). I've hit 80 with the Tdi but only just to say I did it. 65 is a nice cruising speed and EGT's are around 750. Trying to climb mountains in NY/VT/NH will send the EGT's over 1000 pretty quick and maintaining the speed limit can be a challenge, especially if you're loaded with people and gear.

That's good info, Frank.
My EGT's read much higher on average. I used a long probe(Auber maybe?) and it might need to slide out just a bit; maybe its too close to the opposite wall.
Then again it may just be too hot...I've pegged it up to 1300-1350 on a mountain interstate climb.
And that was losing speed and power.
As a daily driver it is just normal.

I know I'm a little late to the party. but I just finished my disco 200tdi conversion. I put a 200tdi and a Lt77 transmission in my 95 disco. I'm getting 30 mpg at 65 to 70 MPH (it likes 65 MPH better too). I'll be installing Timber trail boost pin and an EGT gauge this weekend. It's an easy project to convert one of these and I love driving it. I cant wait to put an Ashcroft Locker in it. I know it was a lot of money to spend on an old truck, but I like it and it was cheaper than a Jeep and a lot better on and off road ( in my humble opinion).

I spent about $7000 total including the truck. I love the 200. But I think an r380 would have been a better transmission. I have a buddy that has a rebuilt one I can get for $250 just need the diesel input shaft. And I haven't had it to 90 yet or probably ever!
