....was very impressed...I have 3 wheeling trucks, so let's get that out of the way now - it's not what it's for, though it does have the terrain response stuff...

- 4 cylinder turbo very quick and nimble, impressive power across the whole band
- roomy inside despite it looking cramped from the outside, I'm 6'1 215 and fit fine in backseat even
- Seats are crazy supportive and comfortable, loved them
- leather interior amazing
- high belt line gives good cockpit feel, and despite the way the windows appear on the exterior, visibility from the cabin is great
- solid feeling truck
- definitely more sporty look, no wood, reminded me of Audi style interior
- exterior styling is unique and I like it, not a clone of anything
- 800+ watt stereo was dope

If I had the money and was cross shopping, I'd see no reason to go Lexus, Audi or BMW this time round, it's a clear winner for Land Rover. Yes it bugs me it says "Range Rover" on the front instead of "Land Rover," but the world changes, what can you do. I'll give it an A+ anyway!

doubt it, what is an o/u?

edit: over under shotgun? I don't know what they look like broken down, I'm a Saiga man and that won't fit unless you put some gay tacticool stuff on it

there is no way a guitar case would fit in the back. Now that I think about it, that load space cover is worthless, nothing worth stealing fits in the trunk.

All Range Rovers have "Range Rover" on the hood.

Duh. I'm referring to the fact that it's a Range Rover by name, not by heritage. Easy to see it as a new Land Rover model than an extension of the Range Rover brand.

I don't know, it makes as much sense as an extension of Range Rovers as the D1 did for Series or Defenders.

Its coming in at a more reasonable price than I thought it would. Hmmm, maybe an off-lease one will be in store for us. I like the looks of them, of course I also like the look of the awd "mini" :) so I'm strange.

We should send a letter to Posh thanking her for designing us up a nice car it sounds like. We'll do that right after we all turn in our man cards.

Evoke is no more a Range Rover than Posh is a member of the upper class. They are both just basic models all tarted up.

A proper Range Rover has low range and a transfer case. Period...End of discussion

I have nothing against new models just give them new names. Range Rover is the flagship, the Sport is acceptable as a derivative of the RR but the Evoke is the Range Rover's stripper girlfriend that he keeps from the wife. She might think she is going to be Mrs. RR one day but that aint happinin.

MINI countryman si great and quirky, but the rail down the middle of the back seat needs to be removed and a bench in its place. The rear passenger section is just weird IMLO.

We have the up model of the Cooper S with leather and the fit and finish is nowhere near that of the land rover, but the countryman is a bit more of a "sporty" finish that does not even compare at all.

Surprisingly Top Gear magazine is calling the Evoke "possibly the most important car of the year". There is a huge advetorial for it in Aug 11 UK edition of the magazine. They are unabashedly pro British heritage and I think this is the source of the hype.

I think it's going to be a hit and inject a load of cash into Land Rover - after seeing now that the new Defender is due next year, maybe it will be engineered for US specs as well...

I think its a piece of shit , I'd hope to God they don't bring it over here..Defender too! I'm praying that it falls flat on it's face . Maybe then they'd think about getting back to where they came from.
Its not going to be they same guys and I'm having a hard time dealing with it..
