Yes I searched but my jedi powers in that realm sucks so I'm asking for Dweb help. Is there a manual on line that can be downloaded? I have one that goes up to model year 1999. There is a repair shop in town that has TestBook but doesn't know how to do what I want done with it. Namely turn off the volume alarm thingy inside the cabin. They are being douche about it too. They want to charge me $75 hour to train them how to use their equipment. I'm willing to buy pizza and beer for their time though.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I may be wrong, but I think you can just unplug the volumetric sensor in the headliner.

I think Jymmie is right about just unplugging it. I understand what you wanted done. You can turn off volumetric sensing. But just unplug the thing. You know where it is right?

I remember an old-timer (like yourself) telling me there was a TSB or SSM about it due to the sensor being too sensitive.

Ya I think it was a service action to unplug them. I remember working with one in the past and I think it gets a ground signal when it sees movement.

I know where it should be. It never has been there since I have owned the Rover. The brains of the rover are still in transport mode which turns off the sensor but also only allows the cabin lights to say on for a short time while the doors are open. I'm afraid to take it out of transport mode and have it go ape shit when it doesn't detect the senor. It may not but I have no way of going back to transport mode if it does. Has anyone had experience with this problem?

Why is it in transport mode? I'm pretty sure you can take it in and out of transport mode easily with T4.

Because the previous owner wanted to turn the volume alarm off I am assuming. I think it had some damage to the drivers door and the replacement door didn't (still don't) block the wind when it blows hard.

It is on the Ohio River in the SW part of the state; about 8 hours by LandRover to Chicago.

That sucks. How about to Indianapolis ? I hear those guys are pretty good. One of them is on this board I think. Maybe he would help you out. Does sound like you need a T4 and somebody who knows there way around a Bosch Disco.

Ya but how good are they. I know nothing about them. I know a guy who deals with Indianapolis and he's got good things to say about them. He is a very good and reliable source. If you decide to go there I can find you a contact. You can discus what you want to do with him and then decide if you want to make the trip. I know nothing about the guys in Nashville so I'm not slamming them, just know nothing about them. I was born and raised in the north west corner of Indiana. If you ever have a reason to go to Valparaiso, I'm always up for a trip there to check on my Mom and drink with the boys. I could meet you there with a T4.

They can't be that good. They regularly refer older trucks to me:rofl:

Stuart and Chad in parts are pretty good guys.

Go fix some of the newer trucks for them. Most older trucks aren't worth fixing at the dealership for 130 plus an hour. We have so many cars that we are obligated to service we find it difficult to spend time diagnosing something we probably won't be able to get parts for.
