Had this thing replaced by my guru as there was a recall/tsb on it....this is a 2 year old or less part.....master installer....

Fix/replace/cost/huh???

Thanks in advance. No indy's around here...so a dealer run is 1.5 hours each way....

Ok, I'll get the kit......figured it out with that hint. Looks like 3 bolts and two hose clamps. Can I re-use the clamps (or would new ones make more sense....first time to try this and want spares in hand if I break the thing...just been burned before......)

Thanks.

I actually prefer those clamps, once you figure out how to pop them off and on with a long nose pliers they are much less hassle than screw on hose clamps... plus they don't chew up the hose.

Do not by-pass it if you live in a cold climate! My throttle stuck at half Throttle when the pre heater was pluged. It really wasn't a big deal, but if I were a Toyota owner I would have killed myself and others.

I had mine by-passed for a couple of months in the winter and that happened to me about 3 or 4 times.
I don't recommend by-passing it to anyone.

Thanks guys. Got the part from Atlantic British overnighted and took care of it a few days ago.

Not a hard thing to do.

And, appreciate the help.

I know some people use Gasket Sealer/Maker and some don't. If I were to use it, what is the proper type for the Heater Plate gasket? Below is what I saw at my local automotive supply shop.

1. Permatex Ultra Gasket Sealant and Dressing: grey
http://www.permatex.com/products/Au...atex_Ultra_Rubber_Gasket_Sealant_Dressing.htm

2. Permatex Form-A Gasket Sealant #1
http://www.permatex.com/products/Au.../auto_Permatex_Form-A-Gasket_No_1_Sealant.htm

3. Permatex Ultra Grey Rigid High Torque RTV Silicone Gasket Makern (guessing I want a sealant rather than a maker)
http://www.permatex.com/products/Au...gid_High-Torque_RTV_Silicone_Gasket_Maker.htm

4. Something else entirely different?

I used the grey permatex like in the repair thread.

$.89 at the counter.

No problems.

Also, remove the Throttle body as suggested in the referenced thread. Much easier.
