Tranmission Fill Plug

I just re-filled the transmission in my 99D2 recently and I've noticed that it appears to be leaking from the fill hole. Odd. I've made sure it's tight. Is there a crush washer on there that needs to be replaced or is it designed to weep if overfilled?

There should be a tiny aluminium crush washer on there.

On a related note, out of curiosity, I did a little searching and didn't really find a definitive answer on whether or not a Dipstick could be added to the DII transmission. I was just looking at West Coast British's website and at the bottom of a service page (http://www.offroadexperience.com/wcb/servicemajor.htm) they say they can back-date the transmission and fit a dipstick/filler tube. Wonder if anyone has seen this done or had them do it?
