I've had several Rovers and they all do it...some worse than others... the clank from park to drive or from park to reverse. Has anyone ever diagnosed what is actually going on? Wear and tear or something internally that is failing mechanically?
I replaced all motor/tranny mounts and upgraded to Tom Woods shafts w/ double cardon up front hoping that would help a bit but actually made it worse. Rear diff is good with a Detroit, up front is stock and has a bit of play but majority of the slop is from the TF case.
Appreciate the input.
