Did a search on 'Transmission Brake bolts' but didn't get any hits. Anyhow, here's my question...how are the bolts connecting the drum to the rear driveshaft put in? To replace the bolts, do I have to tear apart the brake drum? I stripped one of the nuts that hold the rear driveshaft in place and cannot get it out, I'm thinking dremel the nut/bolt out. How hard is it to replace?

thanks

The bolts that attach the driveshaft are 3/8-24. The brake drum is held on by a single philips or posi-drive screw. The flange has a snap-ring that keep the bolts from falling back in behind the drum. I don't know if you can get them out without removing the flange though. It might be easy as moving the snap-ring forward and gently pulling the oblt forward and sliding the new one into its place.

Worst case, you pull the flange, replace the seal and fibre washer and don't ahve to worry about rear output shaft leaks for another 100K miles.

Thanks, I'm in the process of doing a rotoflex to u-joint conversion and stripped the nut.
