Anyone have this issue with a 2006 or any other year? I did a search and found bits and pieces, but nothing substantial. Driving along, truck throws a transmission fault code, then an HDC fault code, shuts down special programs then lowers suspension to access level. Still runs and drives fine, just low. Sometimes it goes away when you restart, and can drive 50 miles, and sometimes it comes on within 1 mile. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Replaced any brake light bulbs? How's the windscreen to plenum fit? Water leakage there heads right into the trans ECU.
What codes are stored? I 'm reluctant to sugest throwing parts at it without knowing what codes are present. The ECU's have plenty of memory for the fault codes, so it likely recorded each event!
I'd suggest low voltage/poor ground connection would be more evident at start-up as opposed to moving, although once I had an abs event approaching an intersection that resulted in a check engine light and a warranty battery replacement on my own LR3.

As I recall this LR3 was just recently purchased, right? Check the battery and see if the installer indicated the month and year it was installed. If so this will give you an idea of how old it is at least. I've been told that throughout the day the computer systems will ping each other and kind of make status reports. Evidentally if there is not enough voltage from the battery these tests cannot be performed properly and a fault will be triggered. Getting your battery tested is a good start.

If you had a Faultmate it would tell you exactly what is failing, but without it you'll need to carefully check for clues. If you have NAV open up the offroad info screen and check to see if everything appears to be aligned properly. If one corner appears to be different than the others if might indicate a suspension sensor or calibration issue.

I'd still like to know if there is water getting into the TCCM connector. If the cowling at the base o the windscreen leaks at all, the water goes straight into the trans computer that is oriented vertically! It's located behind the battery, so that has to come out to access the cover over the TCCM.

Well, more than 1 vote for a brake light switch. I have about a dozen LR3's I service and none have experienced anything like this, so I'm curious to see if that works.
AB's got 'em for $13; cheap enough and if it doesn't work, just send a bill to Justin.

Did the brake switch. Still faulted. Tried changing out light bulbs. Still faulted.

On the passenger side rear lamps, the backup light is out, I changed it, and it remains blown. Im guessing my problem might lie somewhere within. Ideas?

Trevor, I wouldnt be surprised if it is getting wet or has gotten wet. From what I remember, the sunroof drain runs down the passenger front pillar. On the second day of my ownership of the truck, the passenger footwell was loaded with water due to a clogged sunroof drain. Any chance that this is a lingering issue from that? Or perhaps it is getting clogged again and has now reverted to the area you spoke of?

Thanks for all the help thus far.

And its throwing a P0504 code.

Also, upon startup, on the dashboard screen, not the info, but where it shows mileage, I startup, and it says it is 5k miles past service, but I just need to reset that. I am curious as to what the small clock-like icon means that appears as well as the number that appears today. One day it said 12, today it said 8, and then a few minutes ago it said 7. What is this countdown? Im ready to blow this thing up and stick with my D2.

The clock-like icon indicates the days to your next service (or past your next service, if the number is preceded by a minus sign), usually followed by the miles. The SII should keep track of both days and miles from your last reset, whichever occurs first.

Faults from the ABS module could also cause cascading faults and the suspensions going to "Limp Home" access height. Coincidentally, a SSM about the brake switch popped up on TOPIx a couple of days ago: http://rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=45347

Bulletins: LTB 217/218/306/NAS1 all relating to water ingress interior and A pillar; LA 501-006 and -012 as well. Didn't find any specifically relating to the PCCM, but it wouldn't b the first time we've seen it.
