Remove the a/c bwahaha ;)
There is no benefit in bypassing the heater core, you will actually be messing with the cooling system and you don't want to do that in tropical climates.
Realistically there is nothing that you can remove that will give you any benefit. I guess you don't use the ass warmers.

I'm having some trouble getting the air out of my heater core. It's just wishful thinking on my part.

However, if I lived someplace real warm (I don't) and the core leaked I can't see the problem with connecting the heater hoses together and bypassing the core.

over there
after run auxiliary coolant pump. you can use a stock mercedes aux pump, tie into one of your heater core hoses. install a relay and a coolant temp sensor that will shut the pump off when it reaches a decent temp. you an something like this for the coolant temp sender http://www.egauges.com/vdo_acce.asp?Subgroup=Hose_Adaptors&Manf=All
an after run pump is good to put in no matter what climate you're in, it will help the engine cool down in a more uniform manner than shutting the motor down and letting the coolant cool down at different rates depending on where it is in the cooling system.

For a temporary fix yes.

The heater core is a small radiator, it is plumbed inline with the Water pump moving coolant through it. You would especially want to have a properly working heater core installed on your vehicle for those times when the vehicle starts running hot, say on long inclines, slow trails up mountains etc. If you turn on your heat/fan (high) you will notice your temp gauge go down slightly. Every bit of heat dissipation matters. Only a complete fool would remove the heater core from a stock vehicle in any climate. :D

Reducing the capacity of the cooling system is a brilliant idea  .

You shouldn't need any modifications to operate in warm climates. The condenser fan will run after the vehicle has shut off if it is too warm.

By pass the throttle body heater. It's only needed in cold climates, and it will eventually leak. Trust me. This won't affect your coolant capacity at all. It's easy and only takes about 15 minutes.

I've got my D1 on Guam, it's as tropical as it gets, and I've not removed anything, and never had a problem (that I wouldn't have had otherwise anyway)
