it seems when you guys hear the CLRARK_K_K_K_K_K_ sound as pictured in Jareks video it seems you are getting off the throttle-as if teh sound is NOT normal. but then you have posters saying their TT has been like that since day one so it MUST be normal
what the heck is that sound-its not a happy sound, if it is part of TT ownership, then
they sure dont seem to tell you to expect that sound in any TT literature I have read.
What if you stayed on the throttle-would it engage both wheels it?
is the sound BAD for it?
would the TT keep making that sound indefinately?
does it just decide its no longer a limited slip, turns to an open diff and is that the sound?
.. and I am just asking to ask, not to challenge or put down TT, I seriously contemplated TT and chose ARB which left me broke.
Just wondering what it might be like to not max out my credit card..
I went and found the loosest steepest hill I could find and did with the CDL on, with it off TC always comes on no matter what is locked or unlocked:the following was done with CDL engaged
-ARBs off, let TC do the work, just like any other rover, lots of TC
-just a rear ARB some TC enagement, but the rear does most the work locked
-just the front ARB locked, the front didnt have alot of traction so TC+rear worked
-with both lockers engaged, i can crawl up slow and even STOP, then keep going with TC NEVER coming on
anyone who tells you TT works great with aD2 has not been a D2 with dual ARBs
I can only hint at hoiw nice it is to not hear TC come on-to be able to proceed without it completely, I think is kindest on the parts.
I would love to see a d2 with TTs on the same hill, I am sure its better than open diffs, but how much-in real life, literature and sounds aside, both rigs should be timed and video taped
