who care about a game that is so unamerican?

Honestly, could it be more boring? How many goal have been scored in all the games totaled up?

Golf is more exciting.

So, somehow so many people like the game outside of the U.S., but since its un-American it is boring? And American football with dudes in tight ass shorts running up and down the field, wrestling each other down for a ball is really American for you? Who cares how many goals are scored? When one is scored, just like in hockey, its that much more exciting. I guess you just have to look outside of the bubble....:patriot:

First of all, the rest of the world is wrong.

Second of all it is nothing like hockey. In Hockey they actually score

Eh, I think you may have had some of the mud from that pic get into your brain. Conduct PMCS on it and watch soccer afterwards... :D

I hope team USA will lose continuously at men's soccer so we can put a stop to this ridiculous trend in interest.

Men's soccer? Seriously?

It would be more exciting, and more intense, to watch granny's wrestling.

I mean, I realize men's soccer provides an outlet in high school to kids that couldn't otherwise play football, wrestle, etc. But watching it on TV?

Maybe its just me, but why are football, wrestling, etc held in higher regard than other sports like soccer? Is it just the popularity factor? Personally, not being raised on U.S. football I could care less for it, same goes for basketball and the likes.
Your statement regarding high school kids is about as accurate as me saying that those who simply watch football are those who could never play it themselves. Running around and yelling, my team this, my team that.

I'll watch world cup, but typically don't enjoy soccer a whole helluva lot. The low-scoring thing doesn't bother me at all, but the constant "oops, it's out of bounds, oops, there's a foul", stopping the game all the time is annoying and dull. Basketball is just as bad. American football, when things are HAPPENING, is really fun to watch. Too bad it's 2 hours of commercials and inane commentary and only 8 minutes of gametime.

Baseball, on the other hand, ALWAYS has something going on. The outfield adjusting for a new batter, the coaches sending signals using secret sign-language, the tension of the impending pitch, the baserunner taking a lead and threatening to steal a base, the list goes on and on. Best sport bar-none.

Lucky. :victory:

There is something about watching soccer(it does not matter who you root for) I can't quite explain. The camaraderie, the emotion, the physical effort, there are few things that compare. And then there are the hooligans. Good times. :patriot:

Ediit- as far as the hooligans comment... much of this represents not only nations, but the impact of this affects neighborhoods worldwide as well. I hope to catch as much as I can in my free time.
