$250 is a very good price. I have two of these, one hard-wired in both cars. If you can't get that for it here, put it on eBay. It'll bring more than $250 there.
One of mine has POP and the other is just like yours, both perform fantastically.

The illegal part I'm aware of completely. Its the new radar detector detectors the state police have that will single your ass out in a line of ten cars. Its of no good to anyone in VA to have a detector IMO. I could pick up on them just as normal but they got me just the same. Other states don't have that crap just good old VA.
There are RD that are invisible to the LE, also , if they use LIDAR, you can use a jammer.
Some good older RD can be upgraded to the newer system.

Radar detectors are 100% legal in CT. DC, VA and military bases are only illegal places to operate radar detectors.
if you feel the need for speed...obviously in something other than a Land Rover 
....then you just need the Passport ones with radar jamming ability, I am sure their are others too...
My buddy had a trooper pull him over because he saw it on in the car, made him take it off, give it to the trooper, who put it under the rear tire of his car then told him to drive away!! Or he could take a ticket.
