LOL
fear not, this book was printed in English; if this one isn't immediately available, there are others (I checked).
But seriously, I think you'd appreciate these guys' travels. They've covered all of the world (Africa, Americas, and Asia) between 1948 and 1954 in a rear-wheel-drive Tatra, with air-cooled V8 in the back.
Last year in Peru, I enjoyed seeing the landmarks I've seen in their books ias a small kid. On an emotional scale, it is like Joy Adamson and Land Rovers.

It does sound like something I'd like to read, then.:)

That's the sort of travel story that can hold my interest. If it's as you say it is, I can see why it would have stuck in your mind.

Cheers,

Kennith

There was a new edition about to come out about a year ago, was still pricy; but, I found it on Amazon.uk for *cheap*, so I pre-ordered it. Was delayed. Then delayed again. Eventually, they canceled the order, said they can't get them. I was bummed; I wanted a copy, but, not at crazy-money prices.

I still get emails from Amazon.uk saying "since you ordered 'Vehicle Dependent', you might like..." ; I have an urge to email 'em back saying "but I didn't get it!".

Well, I received it, and it was in the condition advertised.

As soon as I opened it and started leafing around, I was happy that I bought it, and the idea of three hundred bucks just floated away. :)

Worth every penny to have it back.

Cheers,

Kennith
