The Western National Land Rover Rally (WNLRR) is the first event of it's kind. A combination of trail runs and challenges put together by five Land Rover clubs (AZLRO, GBLRC, HDR, NCLRC, & SCLR) with one Premiere Land Rover Dealer (Land Rover Las Vegas), October 2015 is gearing up to be one heck of an off-highway driver's delight.

October 8-11, 2015

  • Trails
We've got them. Explore the beautiful Red Rocks in and around Sedona. From challenging to scenic to both, come explore.
  • Friends
Catch up with those Roverphiles you haven't seen for a while. Make new friends with people from all over the U.S. and beyond.
  • Challenges
Brush up on your off-highway related skills. The WNLRR is more than trails – in-camp challenges will test your wits.

Looks like a cool event.
I still can't get past the idea of there being another "National" event. It seems like bad form and it cheapens this event.
I think it's awesome that you were able to actually get so many clubs to work together towards a common event(it's a PITA I know). Calling it a Western National is actually contradictory. It's either a Western event or a National event, and the Rover community already had a National event. Not to say it couldn't draw a National crowd, just don't like how calling it that comes off. Kinda seems disrespectful.

Holy stupid expensive…$189.00 just for you and your truck (bring your wife and 2 kids and it's another $120.00) to drive fire roads, play corn hole at camp, watch a bunch of "overlanders" try and change a tire and maybe win a gift certificate from a lame rover shop in Scottsdale

And if you don't have a rig, we've got a deal going with a JEEP dealership to rent one for our Land Rover Rally

At least try and be creative and come up with a title that doesn't rip off the Solihull guy's…

I went out there and rented a dune buggy for something like $100 a day and had a great time. Not sure why you need to pay a group/club to do the same...

for $100 a day I would have rented you my Range Rover.

AZLRO has trips up in the Sedona area probably once a month. It will be nice to get more people from the southwest out there at the same time. Camping/Dinner is a nice benefit since most of the trips are just day trips. I only get to use my top of the line Walmart camping gear once or twice a year ;)

Besides, I can take a trip to Haunted Hamburger or Maynard's vineyard in Jerome.

I'll be the guy with the tall flag pole with the blinky light on top. And maybe a drone if Amazon Prime Day treats me well.

Two weeks! I hear there are lots of raffle prizes and giveaways! I hope I don't get another hat for 'worst blowout on a trail' again.

You can also rent a SxS or Tomcar from sedona area shops if you don't want to rent a J**p.

I'm starting my Expedition Journal now:

Day 1. I bought a tube of grease for the truck. I shall be checking the oil and greasing anything with a nipple tonight.

I hope that they consider renaming this event. It's a fine idea and clearly popular but there's no reason to blatantly rip-off Solihull Society's long-running rally. Find a unique name.

Yup. How multiple people from multiple clubs could have all come together to plan this event and no one realized the name was in poor taste is beyond me.

you have to realize that some of the organizers of this event have no clue of the heritage of the original event...pretty egotistical and shows without using the name, the event would probably not have the success they are enjoying.
The Sedona area is awesome, but the trails are nothing more than fire roads...Most of the trails (except one)you can run in a 2 wheel drive pick-up.
Yep I'm biased, and hope the guys showing up and paying sick cash bring lots of beer and like camping in a open farmers field that will be a dust bowl by day two...
