If you really want to be organized you need an email that provides IMAP or Exchange capabilities. Then set your phone to sync your emails with your computer, in other words when you delete an email on your phone it deletes from your computer or, if you move an email to your 'Family' folder on your computer it moves to to your family folder on your phone. I just made the switch and it's the ONLY way to go. POP accounts are old and out dated...

Also, Microsoft hotmail and live.com accounts offer IMAP and so does Gmail. If your office uses Exchange servers your in luck as well.

x10 on GMail ..... I use it exclusively... integrates nicely with the iPhone/iPad (can sync my contacts, calendar, push mail, etc.. ) ... if you *need* a desktop application, you can hook Thunderbird up with it. There is no better alternative.

Whatever you end up with, you should keep the hotmail account. I like to have 1 good email address that I just give to friends and real contacts. Any other time I need to use an email account to log on to something or fill out a form, I use my hotmail account. That way all crap email lands there, and my real email address stays clean.
