so I am looking at pics, and i notice some rovers with cables that tie the front end of the roof rack to the upper corners of the bull bars.

I like how it looks, but can not figure out what it is for.

can anyone explain it to me??

thanks

They are Limb Risers. Also a handy clothes line for drying towels etc at the camp.

They allow tree branches to be diflected over the truck instead of hitting the windscrean.

Oh, and they hummmm on the highway thus canceling out the hummmmm of your MT's :p

They are supposed to lift the tree branches up and out of the way preventing them from hitting your windshield and the side of your truck as you go down the trail.

High poseur value. In reality... a clothes line, or opportunity to behead pedestrians not deflected by the bull bar. :)

Definitely good for saving your windshield. I've seen a couple broken windshields as a result of thick brush on some of the trails in the pine barrens (both jeeps surprisingly)..

As for poseur value, the west coasters put them high on the list.. but the east coasters know the true value of them :) Same goes for snorkels.
