Mandalorian is good. If you like Star Wars and the feel of the older ones it’s great. The use of the Unreal engine like Kennith mentioned is amazing for how they filmed it. Most if not all scenes didn’t even require going back in to edit anything more than when they shot the scenes. The general feel of the season was very much like Firefly combined with a Star Wars universe. They eliminated the bullshit social justice warrior garbage that plagued the newer movies and eliminated the cheesy feel of side stories and injected characters.

There are a lot of complaints about it. Like he always has a way out. Or the show feels like every fake RPG that exists today. While I agree he manages well in most situations and comes out ahead, it’s called the Mandalorian. Not the Death of a Mandalorian. People need to grow the hell up and just enjoy what they’re watching. It’s a story about the main character and Mandalorians. It’s a good balance of action, comedy, character development, etc.

The only disappointing part about the show is the feeling you’ll have after the first episode. You’ll be confused why episodes 7-9 were garbage and don’t compare to the first five minutes of episode 1 of the Mandalorian.

It's amazing how the expanded universe properties are outstanding, and the mainline franchise is rubbish.

Turn your brain off and enjoy the ride with Solo, Rogue One, and The Mandalorian. They all have that '30s serial feel that Lucas originally quoted as almost exclusive inspiration; especially Solo. That damned film is like buying a Flash Gordon serial compilation and watching it all the way through.

They don't shove any messages in your face, the writing is actually great for what it's supposed to be, and in general they're a lot of fun.

The new mainline films... The effects are good, the characters are great, the acting is fun; but the writing is absolutely terrible. How's Daisy supposed to show her stuff with that crap choreography and poor story-telling? I'd love to see all these people in a more well-written series.

Finn was fucking awesome, but they threw him under the bus the second they were done hanging him out to dry, the poor guy, and he became comic relief.

That was a dick move on their part, because he was a solid runner for a favorite character, in my eyes. They knew what they were doing to him when they dropped the helmet reveal and didn't point out he wasn't a clone. Dick move.

Cheers,

Kennith

For someone who doesn't own a tv, it sounds like you watch a helluvalotta TV ;)
Ha.

Only Netflix and Amazon. In general we watch one hour long show a night. On weekends I might watch a movie. I did watch the last Last Kingdom episode and that was the last thing on my list so time to go to Redbox to see what's available, if anything.

Note: I can put my grimy fucking hands all over Redbox right after 100 other grimy fuckers, and no one says a word. Go up to it without a mask and some old fat will likely give you stinkeye.

Most of our binging is through the winter. I blew through Drive to Survive on a shitty rainy cold Saturday/Sunday.
