The XDi I have with the LR logos came off a G4 D2. I was able to get new labels for free from warn for that model winch but nothing LR branded avail.
How does a synthetic rope create rigorous forces?
I'm still fairly well set on the Superwinch Tiger Shark 9500. $350 shipped from Amazon. I'll upgrade to synthetic line sooner or later.
it came OEM on a 00 range rover vitesse (great divide then LR equinox school) truck.
has a slightly different solonoid cover, plus had a different clutch release knob to clear the winch mount. remove plug was also seperate. i believe it also had a LRR or STC number on it but that has long since gone, and i broke the knob with a crecent wrench trying to get it unsiezed....
crapy pic but this is what it looked like...
The steel wire acts as a heat sink, while the synthetic traps even more heat plus the slight give in the cable along with a greater "surface area" the cable has over the drum while synthetic will collapse the drum.
I use a china shit box 12k pounder on the RTE bumper. Works great, no issues. I did switch to a good synthetic line however as I didn't trust the china cable and hook. The hook more so than the cable.... Anyway.
Not the fastest but works great and was about $400 to the door. Powerful enough it has cracked the POS welds on the RTE bumper.
You didn't answer my question. How does a synthetic rope create rigorous forces?
The winch motor creates force, but how does a rope create force?
It is lazy writing by Superwinch.

I put synthetic line on my tigershark 9500 (cost almost as much as the winch) after one use the line melted onto the drum. These winches can't accept synthetic line. However, I still think it is a good value.
When I bought the winch the disclaimer about synthetic winch line was not on the superwinch web site. It has since been added.
I have seen some lines where the first 10 feet or so that wraps on the drum is covered in some sheath canvas or something.
Southeast Overlands ropes come with 10' of drum sheathing. I'm sure Steve could put extra on it.
