Spot on Marcus - it is a US thing - for some reason they couldn't didn't use the regular square SD1 headlights on the US version. I kind of prefer the twin round lights anyway - kind of remind me of the old RS2000

Garrett, Does that thing run yet? :p

oh she runs, just not 100%. moved it to a barn for temp storage the other day. my folks were getting a little annoyed with the fixture. not to mention the other 4 Rovers i have at any given time and place.
the SD1 in the UK came with the Euro lens. (one large lamp with halogen bulb)
someone on Ebay had them for sale and they are drop in units. i thought about it, but then i kinda liked the way this one looks.
the car rides really nice and feels good overall. just a little short for me being 6'-3".
the shit brown color (interior too!) is a little much for me. will have to be repainted at some point.
but having a hard time find a used distributor for it. putting in a new coil today to elimate that as a possible problem with the rough running.
this SD1 is a little more rare as it is a 5 speed. and according to the SD1 folks they did not import those to the USA. only Canada which is where this car came from. all in kilometers as well.
i actually found the original owner in Canada as well.

Yep, a Staggerwing would've been very nice! 805 is a 1941 Boeing PT-13D "Stearman" w/ a Continental W-670 (220 HP) engine and a Sensinich 98AA66 wood prop.....very smooth ride.

Robbie, e me a few pics of your father-in-laws plane.

Chris

hey Chris, just shot you an email. basically skeleton shots of his stearman. there was actually a staggerwing at his airport a couple months ago. gorgeous. but oh so $$$$$

lol i need to add a few cars to keep up.
01 D2
01 RR
a dozen bicycles
and hopefully a GT3 soon to come. (my idea of a economy car)

As far as the ricers when they start talking about how fast there cars r i just ask them how fast they can go with my D2 parked on top of them and they shut up.
only came close once though. I was on a 1 lane road and one came along hogging the road and wanted me to move after a few minutes i started lining up to drive over him and he got out of my way pretty quick.

Agro, the 1998 993 twin turbo has always been my favorite Porsche... I always wanted one of those.. I like the 928s4 also but, I've been made fun of for that one.. Seems if it isn't rear engine it's not a Porsche..

Is yours a twin turbo? Or were all 993's twin turbos? I'm not sure as I'm not that knowledgable about Porsche or spelling for that matter.. :D

The 993 production run was from MY 1995-1998.
Here is a good link to 993 history:
http://www.flat-6.net/forum/showcargroup.php?do=model&cat=12
They made many different models, but the 993 Turbo was top of the line and then the limited run 993 Turbo S (monster), of which they made 181 units.
Mine is the lowly 993 Carrera, regular normally aspirated RWD model. With the right modifications, it's a very fun car to drive, but not easily driven fast. I would venture to say that 90% of 993 owners never drive their cars over 6/10th's.
