Here's a question: what tire / tire size are you going to be running? Does the actual rim width matter that much to you, as long as it will hold the size tire you're considering?


I've got 235/85R16 (well, actually 7.5R16's) on my Disco steelies, no problem there. FWIW...

I run 7.50x16's on both sets of my Wolf wheels. Goodyear G90's on one and Cooper Discoverer STT's on the other.
The Wolf's were the MOD wheels and so designed with calipers in mind.
I'm pretty sure standard Series 16" rims will fit as well. It was the bolts on the MOD two part rims that hit the calipers.

I'm running L/R 110 rims with 245/75 16 BFG Mud Terrains on my Disco 1 with no issues. The one ton 110 rims were the largest of the rims available pre Disco era. I don't know how available they are. I suspect they were replaced with the Wolfs.

I don't know which wheel builder you're checking with, but last time I talked to someone at Stockton Wheel, they charged $110 each to build a steel 16" HD wheel.
