Just a curious bugger sorry.

I've just pulled into the works car park to start my weekly shift, everyone else lives 5minutes away but I'm over 100miles so choose to sleep on the back seats with my malamute and save the journey.

I am in Seattle, Washington. A few weeks ago I was in London having lunch and a pint in Knightsbridge. Nearly got run over by a McLaren. What is your job that you get to bring your dog?

You're going to have to settle for a hot Japanese guy, a Waffle House waitress, and a Gypsy. I was too tired to source anything else. Just got the waitresses number last night, so you should probably double-wrap.

Interestingly enough, that reminds me of a time I was surrounded by a bunch of Gypsies after a brief affair with one of their own. Great people; just plain awesome, but surprisingly picky when it comes to their daughters, and certainly up for a fair fight...

Apparently, calculated approval still means something to them. Can't blame them for that. It's quite sensible. If I had a daughter I'd probably do her shopping for her, as well.

Cheers,

Kennith

Spent 4yrs in London (Woolwich) it is all a crap dive. Best thing the Germans did was try get rid of that place lol.

As said I am a fabricator/welder, I work on a steel works maintaining and repairing the coke ovens, usually in the 7 1/2 os box, which has bedroom, bog, ect. But that blew a drive shaft on sat morning so in disco.

Mal doesn't mind, he just gets pegged to the floor near the truck and sleeps under it. Take him for runs at night round the works since we have 100mile, of closed roads so always a good adventure finding new stuff. He has been here with me for so long now he knows the different alarms, and sorts himself out accordingly lol.

I grew up in the steel belt here in the states . Our steel industry was in bad shape when I got out of school so not many jobs for my generation . Some of my friends got jobs shoveling coke into the ovens . That was good money for a kid just out of high school . I think one guy was getting $22 an hour back in 1982 .

It is all machines and stuff where i am. Think the stopped hand charging 50yr ago.

We have to change 'A pipe' which is what takes the gases out the oven and to bi-products. Occasionally there is a Big Bang and we run towards the guys who are running off the place. Otherwise it wil take the town out

Here in Corn-binder country, everybody wanted to go work for "The Harvester". Yeah, they shut down the year after I got out of high school so there were no more $30/hour jobs for those who graduated high school but couldn't read nor cipher.

Then Dana left town and now GE has finally as well.

I'm pretty sure I started out in demolition as my first regular paying job. It's hard to remember, but I know I was around 12 or so when I walked onto the first site, and I can't remember anything similar previously.

Before that, though, I did various things for money when I needed it; pest removal, clearing, fighting, deliveries, and selling the odd item here and there in school that most certainly didn't belong there...

I also had a grand old time walking into arcades and betting events and bumming a quarter or a dollar off everyone I could find, depending upon the location. I'd wander around and hit them all once a week or so until the joints dried up, and then wait a while and hit them again.

Used to get my cousin's group to take me out on their motorcycles so I could hit up the bars, games, and arcades farther out. Helped them pull simple cons and stuff here and there for the favors; making sure people won or lost, and that sort of thing.

Now that I think about it, I was always up to no good when I wasn't off in the woods...:smilelol:

Well, I shouldn't say it's a crappy island. I love it, but it's a wetland. Only a few areas are suitable for anything more than a tent, and even then you'd better zip it up tight to keep the bugs and snakes out.

Cheers,

Kennith
