I wasn't, but I pulled a 26,900 pound tractor trailer up a good size hill on Rt. 29 with a 3500 Chevy with a duramax. I wasn't supposed to be doing that this time since I snapped the receiver hitch off during the last big storm and got in trouble, but that truck was loaded and I was jerking it and the one today was empty with a dead pull. I decided I wouldn't even take a tow strap out with me this morning so I wouldn't be tempted, but a passing fire truck had a strap so I decided to say fuck it.

The hitch itself just behind the ball. So far no one that has seen the hitch can believe it. I think the truck weighted about 60,000 pounds and I was snatching it pretty hard. I would have thought the strap would have gone first or maybe the pin. I'll have to see if someone has a picture I can post tomorrow.

Sus, I'm impressed! There is an access road up to the bald spot (monogram now) and it's now open to 4x4s. The road dips off right behind the new snowflex lodge on the side of the mountain.

Great views, but I started to slide towards the edge at one point. Talk about a pucker moment!

not a single student was happy about it when they built it. They calmed us down by explaining our tuition money was not used, but it was donated. Even still, none of the students really get it.

Bottom line, it's LU's property to do with as they wish. Something a little smaller (as in not half a mountain-side full of land-scape boulders) would have been a little more refined and tasteful.

FWIW - the school has been very gracious with the property, keeping it open to the public, installing and maintaining great mountain bike and hiking trails. 5000 acres of mountain to play on ain't too shabby!

not at all, and the trails are actually pretty good. Taken a bike up there a few times, never disappointed or have run the same trail twice.

if you must know... i shuttled hospital staff and county cops back and forth for three fucking days during this storm. i put up the ad because there are a lot of stupid and hot UVA students who dont know shit and need a pull out of their lot. big whoop. it was also the week before xmas and i needed the $$. so what? yay...let's all gang up on tayloe while he's in africa. unbelievable... i'm glad i missed this the first time.
