Who makes coil springs for a D1?

Hey I’ve been having trouble finding springs for my D1. It’s a pretty heavily loaded truck- 300Tdi/Dual Batteries/ Husky 8 in a CT winch tray/ ARB modified non-winch bumper/and it will have a parking/pre-heater shortly.
Currently after searching the ARB specs I am running 17”/220# front OME 3063’s I replaced a set of similar rate 2751’s which had sagged to stock height. As expected being 2” longer, it picked the front up 2”. I like the rate, I just want longer springs- maybe 2-3” longer.

For the rear I was going to cut off the D1/D90 spring perch and put on the D110 spring perches and run the matching rear long travel D110 springs- OME 3065’s which are slightly softer (270-330#/in) than the springs I now run with 2” spacers- 2762’s (300-340 #/in). The truck still sits rear high, not offensively.

I want to run just coils for lift and no spacers. I know the Gods of suspension and drive shaft geometry will take offense and I am prepared for that next step. I just want a place to get springs.

I have already talked to RTE but they refuse to give me numbers on springs and rates. I refuse to buy a blind product. Eibach doesn’t list springs greater than 5” OD. D1’s are 6” OD. D110’s are 7” OD

Anyone have any magical spring sources? I

D2 SE7 Rear Springs are on the front of my 97 XD along with 1inch aluminum spacers for a total of 3inches of lift. Without the 1inch spacer you'd have a 2inch lift.

I used a 1inch spacer to get 3inch of lift and still retail a good ride with MD OME coils in the rear. I didn't want a 4inch lift and I needed more than a 2inch lift so in my case I simply used some old Arnott Industries P38 1inch aluminum spacers I had laying around to achieve a 3inch lift.

I’m looking to get new rear springs soon as well. My RTE are real old and have seen some use. In my research, I’ve found that Brit Part has a wide selection and the website tells you what you’re getting. I’ve also been told, but cannot confirm, that TF027V will give a D1 rear 3” lift. The TF website is pretty informative as well. Ironman makes springs as well. I know nothing about them. I wish SG still made springs.

Ironman makes springs as well. I know nothing about them.

My South African Defender 110 had Ironman suspension. It wasn't much of a lift, as it had 7.5x16 tires on it but that thing was a bouncy ride until you filled it with gear. I find the OME springs on my Disco give better overall ride quality, but that wasn't the aim with the Defender. Having driven both I prefer OME, but it's not a like-for-like comparison.

I think its the leverage of that arb bumper killing the springs

NRC4304 Red/White should do what you're looking for, but it is only 170 vs the 225 of what you got now

Kingpin Design and Fab out of Oz has the Dobinsons in various rates and lifts. They also have the Superflexy +2.5" springs for the 110's

I just meant the distance the ARB sticks out compared to others. Weight seems ok.

I've got a very similar mass setup with v8 instead of a diesel. NRc4305 Red/Yellow and they are 10.75" length compressed. My stock LSE front springs are about 9.25 compressed so I'm getting 1.5" lift even with the husky, winch tray, skid plate, brush guard. The red/white springs should compress to about 11.25 giving 2" of lift.

That’s a great resource in springs! Thanks, I am using a different one that is good but doesn’t list some of the manufacturers this one does.
Red90 created the original bright green one. I took that, updated it with info from King (what I run on my D1) and others, then put it on Google Sheets so it’s easier to read and easier to edit.

Glad you liked the resource!
