About 10 min before it was supposed to be red, it got really cloudy. I actually enjoyed the look of disappoint on peoples faces more than I would have liked seeing the moon red.

Saw it in SW Indiana. Bonehead neighbors was using a flash to take pictures of it. The flash was freaking out my 11 year old mutt. I guess she thought it was lighting. She HATES thunder, fireworks, or gun shots.

I saw it. I actually had my camera with me as I was out photographing a car, but I accidentally flipped the movie mode switch, and then immediately forgot the switch was there. Figured the mirror was stuck, so I didn't bother trying to take any more pictures.

Sometimes brains can be frustrating.

Cheers,

Kennith

Saw it from our campsite on the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, couldn't have been more perfect.

Your photography skillz are way better than mine so I'm just going to take your pics for my album. :D

All digital Chris, though I was not generally shooting at high ISO that night. I did occasionally have noise, but not in every photo.

I don't use noise reduction because it often screws with stars that are actually there. I did adjust the saturation to bring out the reddish clouds

When I see sweet pics I get upset that I sold all my photo gear.

Then I remember that I only used it once every 2-3 months and I don't feel bad anymore.

I have so much gear that I'd love to sell, but then need every time I shoot a wedding.

I don't know if I even used my elinchrom ranger once this year...

I did a few weddings on the side as a second shooter most of the time, never went out on my own. The market here is pretty crowded as it is and to be honest it isn't worth my time to try and start my own thing. It got to the point where I was using my iPhone more than my DSLR when out and about to the point where I would just leave it at home. So i sold it all.

I might pick up a Sony DSC-RX100 or Ricoh GR before I head to Moab for ESJ next spring. Or maybe a 4/3rds rig with a small prime lens on it.
