Wife stuck help remote keys issue!!!

I got a call from my wife she's driving the 2000 Range Rover and basically when she gets back to the car, the remote battery died so she try to open manually through the driver side and alarm went off and engine disabled. She walk to Radioshack and bought the cr2025 battery and replace the battery but remote would not work. She followed the orientation and still does not work. The car was running prior to the locked issue. I told here to open the hood and unhook the battery well the EKA procedure for rangerover.net but you know....

Any tips as to why the remote is not working?:banghead: :banghead:

IIRC the handset needs to be re-synced after the fob battery has been replaced. On a '00 RR it should re-sync by inserting the key in the ignition in order for the BeCM to pickup the signal...
Has this already been tried?

Not yet but let me call my wife, how long do you have to leave it on. My wife was just embarrass when he open the car and alarms keeps sounding off. Thanks.

Be careful she doesn't super-lock it!

FWIW-I have always used the Rovacom to sync fobs and the ECU/BECM. Good luck.

Thanks PTS, I wish you are here in SoCal. I might tow it to the local indy shop does have a Rovacom if RoverDII recommendation does not work.
