Wiper Cowl had a split in the middle. Replaced with a used part. I am now getting a whistle from the passenger side. the A Pillar finishers won't fit flush with new part either. The cowl looks like it went on right. the holes for the wipers match up but the A pillar finsihers won't fit against the new part. Noise sounds like its coming from the cowl area, lower right, but it could be the A Pillar Finisher. Anyone have this before? What did I miss? I might just take the A pillar inisher off and see if it stops. I'll check to see if will has any finishers as well.

The two center tabs appear to be shorter on the replacement part than on the broken cowl. Will this make a difference? Any Tips for taking out the plastic screws, They don't want to back out now.

No answers but definitely want to know how hard it is to replace. I have both pillars cracked and a center crack on the cowl like yourself. This is definitely a project in the future to replace as funds are tight and brakes are the priority right now.

I've been shopping for used covers:

www.roverlandparts.com
www.atlanticbritish.com
www.miamirovers.com

I'm assuming that new parts come with the proper clips and guessing that used parts need clips. Where did you get your replacement part (cowl) from?

Did you see that Miami Rovers makes a fiberglass replacement to avoid future cracks like the stock plastic one and it's cheaper.

Mine is cracked too - how much for a new one? I think snow and slush get under there and freeze and crak it - I noticed the crack last year after we had 4 feet of snow - and tthe rover was always snow covered with slush and gunk for like a month in sub zero temps.

What is the part number - from what I can tell there is the cowl panel, the end finishers(rubber) left and right and the seal for the panel?

Is this right?

What is involved in replacement?

The plastic tabs that hold the finisher in aren't screws. The are sort of like a "plunger tab." Once the finisher is in place, you place the tab at the hole and push it in.

I took a small bit and drilled out the original tabs. I got some news tabs from the dealer for 5 bucks I think.

I know it is hard to picture, so I'll try and get a photo of one to post...

Screws aren't the problem. There are four Tabs/Slots on the back of the cowl that the windshield fit in to hold the cowl in place. I think I missed one of the short ones on the passenger side. That is where my wind noise appears to come from. The Plunger tabs I can't seem to get out anymore. So I am looking for new one's as well. I don't think the A pillar finshers develop any noise.
