Won't shift into Park.

Ok ! I removed the console and the shifter complete from the floor to remove the Insulation. Cleaned and put everything back to gether without never shifting it out of park. after I finished. I started the engine. moved the shifter through the gears. shifted back to park and the it would not go the Cable was at the end of travel so . I thought it most have moved where fastened to the trans.. So I had to leave it in Neutral and the key in the ign.. What could have happened.?? It works in all the other gears just fine... took the shiftier cover back off to move the solenoid to get it out of park.shifter only not on the Trans...

You sure there's not a Jolly Rancher or a penny deep in the bowels of the shifter keeping it from going in Park?

As my mother used to Say " Of all things" Went to Home Depot for some metric bolts.. I cheated I left it in NETURAL . Key would not come out.. Drove it to 3 places.. When I came out of Home depot . It would not do anything.. Moved lever felt very free. It Was.. crawed under in parking lot and saw where the main cable that is not supposed to move.. had come completely out of the Bad design bracket I guess the brkt. was supposed to be crimped. but it had spread and released the cable.. Crimped it back the best I could with pliers.. Drove it home no problem now will look and see what better way I can do this.... Trying to Kill alll the little Bugs.. so I can go on a trip..

It is anchored at the other end, that end can float without problem.

Not being in the holder it just Bows instead of moving the Arm. That is why it won't shift ...
