Hey guys. my rover is "ruined", but it runs fine. Just replaced all 4 02 sensors and MAF.

Here's the latest code list:

P0161 - 02 sensor issue
P0734 - Gear 4 Final Ratio incorrect
P0304 - Cyl 4 Misfire
P1590 - Idle Speed Sensor
P0304 - Cyl 4 Misfire (Cool Twice Same Code!!!)
P0160 - 02 sensor issue
P0300 - multiple engine misfire

And like any D2 owner with more than 90k miles, I have christmas trees on too!!!!

My New Years Resolution is to get these lights off, but i don't even know where to start. any help or advice is welcome. i'm thinking its just going to have to go to a shop cause this might be out of my knowledge.

thanks. -kevin

I bet you would get rid of most of the codes by replacing the plugs and wires as well as the MAF...Believe it or not, the P0734 was cleared in mine after I replaced the MAF.

I 2nd that, my P38 needed the MAF replaced and it also made the gear ratio code clear as well. Crazy.

Get an OBD2 scan tool from an autoparts store, or have said autoparts store clear the codes after they give you a list of what they are.
BTW I have had all of those codes before and I cleared them after changing plugs, wires, MAF, and coils. No codes for about 4,000mi now (knocking on wood).

alright good news for once with this truck. yeah i need to "stop being cheap" and get an obd2 scanner. i found out today autozone isnt allowed to clear codes. not sure why.

plugs and wires on a d2 sounds like a bitch. oh well i'll do that up next

Find an Autozone or equivalent that will let you take the code reader outside to your truck yourself, then clear 'em.

You can reset the SES light by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds but this won't get rid of the codes that are stored. If you've fixed the problem though, the SES light shouldn't come back on.

02 codes may also not reappear? :D

And the "M" in MAF stands for... ______? (I figure the AF are likely air filter.)

Thanks.

The O2 codes are probably being caused by raw fuel in the cat from the #4 misfire. So if the misfire is fixed the sensors may fall within limit and the code may go away...if not, the sensors will have to be replaced. Replacing them isn't a fun job...you will need plenty of liquid wrench and at least a 6 pack of your favorite beer. I recommend Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

you obviously didn't read my whole original post, but i already replaced all 4 02 sensors. it wasn't a fun job, however it did not require liquid wrench and i'm not old enough to buy alcohol so i had to do the job sober. boo on the drinking age.

I'm going to put in new plugs and wires tommorow and hope that fixes my issues. if not, i'm taking it to the shop, getting it fixed, selling it, and getting a discovery 1. i'm tired of putting up with this trucks bullshit

Wow...I did read your original post, but I also read the questions that others asked...such as the one that BlackandTan posted and I responded to regarding the O2 sensors.
Hopefully the plug and wire change solves your truck's issues.
