Blew out yet ANOTHER steering box. This time it was my fault (trying to move around a non-running Disco).

Let me know what you've got....

Call Will Tillery and see what he can do for you on a new one. I did many years ago and never looked back. Still leak free and nice and tight.

I just went through this and tried a used one which was advertised "no leaks" from a guy on eBay and after spending half a day getting it in there, I fired it up and it promptly leaked half the fluid onto my garage floor before I ever got out of the garage. Since I didn't get around to installing it until after the seller's 60 day warranty, he told me sorry out of luck and offered to sell me another "no leak" box if I'd send him another 150.00. Lol. Just ended up throwing power steering stop leak in it and I'm going to pop for a brand new one eventually at 950.00.

The box I got from Will was a rebuilt one and it has been on there for years. On my whole truck, this was the best replacement part I ever spent the money on. This box will definitely go on my new truck whenever I find the right one.

I have one laying around but I'm not sure if it's leak free. Pulled it off a parts truck that never ran when I had it but the PS resi was full.

Lucas Stop Leak did nothing for me so I tried a third of a bottle of Blue Devil (White Shepherd) Power Steering Stop Leak and believe it or not the leak has stopped completely. All dry now. Amazing.

Got a good dry box when this starts to leak again. Check your hose in the back of the pump, the clamp can cause wear in the hose, mimicking a leak.

That's what happened to mine, it was starting to drip and leave it's mark in garage. I tightened up all the hose clamps and no more drips while parked.

Of course if I try and turn my tires into a rock it still pukes fluid out of the box. So I'll probably still need a new one soon. But at least it does not leak while parked anymore.

I tried it on two steering boxes now, and both times Blue Devil stopped the leak.
... however, both blew sector shaft seals between two and three weeks after. It may be a pure coincidence, I know.

Probably a shock to the box from being leak free. :)
