Hey guys just got an oil change this morning and now when I come to a stop my oil light starts blinking and goes solid after a second I hit the gas and goes away ,checked the oil level and is fine so WTF , this is for a 98 D1

You know what thats a good question I dropped it off and pick it up later and didnt asked what weight they used , the only thing I gave them was a Fram filter that I hadfishEH said:
Could be a bad filter. Fram filters blow anyways. I'd get a WIX and refill the oil myself with Rotella (or whatever gets you excited).
^ That and did you check the level with the engine off and cold? A lot of quick change places don't know these things take 7 quarts.
they probably put 5/30 in. i'm guessing your engine has over a 100k on it in which case i'd recommend 20/50. I've installed hundreds of Frams with no issues, but can never rule it out.
Well I had to stop the truck now the oil light is solid at any speed and engine started to knock , Im waiting at a STS auto for anothet oil change putting a Bosh oil filter now , they said 10w/30 should be fine instead of the 5w/30 that it calls for

Well I dont have good news did a second oil change and I was so happy when the guy started the truck and no knock , drove home about 10 miles into the trip fuc..ng knocking again and the oil light back on I was pissed so I said F it drove the other 5 miles home like that as I get home going up hills the truck is loosing power Im doing 30mph uphill flooring the gas pedal pull in the driveway and the knocking is loud seems to come from the driver side , Im guessing lifters and cam is toast , so now Im shit out of luck .. I was told the same thing the pick up line being clog so even if I drop the oil pan and clean it I'll probably done damage Im not in a good mood to say the least
It's too bad you could not have gone back to second shop to have a look at the Fram filter that was removed. There's a chance that part of the silicone (or rubber, not sure what Fram uses) anti-drainback broke off in a crescent moon shape. These small parts then get into oil system, blocking flow. Of course, one cannot be certain that this is what happened, but the timing and chain of events matches this scenario perfectly.

the truck is parked on the second oil change I got quaker state 10w30 with 1 and half bottles of Lucas 20% ratio like they recommend and a Bosh filter , next Im dropping the pan and cleaning that pick up line and cross my fingers if it is the oil pump got no idea how to do that never done it beforeJake1996D1 said:

Drop the pan and check the pickup tube. If it is not clogged with anything, you will have to enjoy the process of removing the front cover to the check the oil pump gears. You have to have pan off to get front cover off anyways.
The only part I can think of that you will need is a front cover gasket, which should come from the dealer. And a can of Right Stuff for the pan reinstallation.

Do people not stop and get a tow truck when there is something obviously wrong? Not getting oil and overheat are two things that should make you want to get the F off the road.
