I don't know PT personally, and he doesn't need me to defend him, but he most certainly has a "working knowledge of anything mechanical" and his opinion carries weight. Now, don't fly off the handle because I used quotations too.

How many engines have you "rebuilt" bitch? I was wondering as "rebuilding" engines can be fraught with problems bitch. You see bitch, an internal combustion engine comprises a myriad of parts and "rebuilding" them can be tricky. Understand bitch?

I'm still confused as to whether or not he was replying to PT or not. His join date is 2006 and he's got 330+ posts. So you would think he's been around enough to know who PT is and what he does for fun/a living. Seems like a bit of an extreme response in any case.

I can't stand forum members who have no working knowledge of anything mechanical, yet decide to give their opinion.
Clearly you have a profound knowledge of everything mechanical and would never ask a dumb question, like for example priming a motor.
FWIW you will have full oil pressure seconds after starting the engine, no need to prime it. If you pack the oil pump with Vaseline (old school method) or molybdenum assembly lube then you will have no problems at all. You will do more damage attempting to prime it by cranking it without spark.
PT is a highly respected member here and has a wealth of experience with Land Rovers.
Glastonbury must have something strange in its water. :patriot:

It took me a moment.

Why bother? The oil pump will prime immediately-especially if you've done an engine "rebuild".

Bitch ;)
