Yeah, Started out with me , now 3 more in our little town of 15k. RR's taking over the big town near by, can't swing a dead cat without hitting one in the car washes. Every thing down here is set up for mud in the rice fields. High lifts, big tires, small everything else.

Move to Denver or Boulder, CO, every other vehicle is a Disco or RR, with lots of Defenders and Series trucks around too. My two discos are stock, but there are lots with tasteful mods.

LOL- yeah, Denver has plenty... I was driving down the street the other day following a D2 (in my D1) which was following an LR3... Looked like a damn parade.

My neighbor bought his kid a Nissan Xterra that has a 4 inch lift, 32s, reinforced this and that...

I went up a trail a couple of weekends ago with them. My (then) quasi STOCK 2000 DII with CDL and TC ate the Xterra up!

Almost every place that had an alternate (easy way), they had to go back use.

The one place that I didn't try was an unknown depth 40 yard mud hole. Of course perfect for the 4 inch high Xterra to go barreling through. I crossed, but through an easier place.

I mean that kid was FRUSTRATED! At the end he said he wishes he would have bought a DI that he looked at.

My 2000 has now gotten a 2" lift and BFG Muds.

When I got my Rover, my city slicker friend looked the over truck and asked me, "So what are 'Land Rover's known for." Then he asked if it had a "real" leather interior of vinyl. HAHAHAHA

The next day I sent him an e-mail with the subject line of "What are Land Rovers known for.......?". In the body of the e-mail was a link to some axle twisting photo on this site. (I neglected to tell him my truck is mostly stock at this time and couldn't do what the picture I sent to him depicted, but what he knows can't hurt him, right?)

The "S" model doesn't have "real" leather.

This I know. I only included it in more story to demonstrate he is one of those Debbie Downer kind of friends. If you're happy with something, he has to try to shoot you down. Mine's an SE, but Rover's rock with or without leather.

If someone that knows what a Land Rover is asked that, I would have considered it an legitimate question.

When I bought mine the guys at work gave me a Tilley hat. I don't like walking between the lines.

Thats cause when i worked in Ontario "boat yards" mostly wankers wore Tilley hats, ditch the hat man and get an Australian felt "bush hat" then you will have some respect....

By the way my 1996 Disco is one of a handfull in Southern New Brunswick, still get comments after all these years :D

It has been said a thousand times..."Hey man, nice jeep."

Shouldn't this thread be somewhere else?

You need the bumper sticker "For the last time, this is not a f**kin Jeep or you could take the humorous approach with this one......
All of the parts falling off this vehicle are of highest quality British workmanship:D

Trucks, Jeeps, etc are common vehicles for common people. Only Land Rover owners really understand Land Rovers. Gee, I don't recall anyone doing expeditions that get world media attention in an F250 or Jeep Wrangler.
