I'll chime in tomorrow after the Sake wears off...a couple of pic's from both Chad and Jake showing the the relationship of the steering components would help...

I love my full hydro set-up...

Dont laugh at my steering damper it's a POS.. Thinking about getting one of those RTC Terrafirma units. Other than that you can see how panhard and drag link line up cause it's the one thats bent.. I notice axle moves in an arch and causes my passnger side shocks rub..

I was under the impression that the point of the 3link was to ditch the panhard rod.

So there's more reason to ditch this, and go with a welded on 3link. The bolt on only fixes half the problem

This 3 link is extremely similar to what most guys would weld on and keep the panhard... reason is the panhard isnt so much the problem. Mine is maxed out and my shocks barely rub the inside of my cones and it can be corrected by changing the bracket so the panhard sits flatter at ride or lengthening it a bit. My goal with the 3- link was allow wheel travel to be independant giving a more stable truck off road especially. Which this 3 link and a weld on 3 link would do. I dont think SG has a bad design, it gets the job done, but obviously a fully custom, weld on design - relocating steering to the front and all the other nice bells and whistles would probably enhance it.

I'm still learning on a lot of this stuff but from my understanding, unlike the rear, it's not possible to run links to the upper part of the axle housing because of clerance issues.

I wouldn't say extremely...
Take the steering dampener off to make sure it's not hiding any issues. A custom 3 link is simple to build, but you have to re-do the exhaust. Look at Kyle's and Greg Davis's truck. I did a radius arm set-up, only because at the time it still wasn't just a "trail" truck. The $G 3-link was made to be a bolt-on solution, and really isn't the best as the numbers really don't work when you wash it thru a link calculator. Keeping a pan hard will help eliminate bump steer, as long as it's symmetrical with the drag link. There's really no reason to lose it, it shouldn't effect travel or have any bind.

Are those spring puck I see?

Yea I thought the issue was oil pan on the V8 but havent looked into any solutions cause this seemed to be an easier solution for the time being. I havent ran the numbers thru a link calculator yet but I was thinking about that as I was typing the last post. I plan on keeping panhard and maybe in the future I will do an extension bracket. Trying to keep it as streetable as possible until I can afford a tow rig.

Drove the truck yesterday and it is a little softer on the road. I could also feel and notice the shifting of center arm/axle during accel and braking. Not gonna put any more miles on it till I get that arm you made.

As for the steering damper - I doubt that thing even works. And the pucks - yes 1" and a wedge.. Havent decided what I am going to do for long term but this was a temp solution.

4 link with spread center mounting points = no panhard and 3 link requires it. At least we follow this in desert trucks. That and grasshopper style swaybars with VW torsion bars.

Are the old ones for a d90 or early rrc? wondering if I could work a d90 brake conversion into it.

Yes, they use the larger 6 point bolt. I may still have one, I'll look tomorrow.

Well after it's long journey from AZ, the pink link has arrived. Thanks to Frank for making this think up for me. It's 100x better than the original teraflex link

Text me your addy. I found 2 sets of spare frame end radius arm bushings for the 3link in my garage. You can have them if you want
