You know really I have this sudden overwelming urge to allow these droids to pass, they really don't seem to be the ones I'm looking for ... I just can't explain why ...

As far as the critter stripes or spots on a disco ... I feel I need to add,...
poor little disco

How about fish scales? or snake skin? :p

Thanks a lot.

Definitely a low quality image to work with but this helps.

I'm pretty sold on the white body and wheels with black bumpers, grill, fenders, roll bar and top.

I've got a Willow D1 and once I pay for Moab next month, I'm buying some vinyl. That looked SWEET w/ black stripes.

Now to make it really accurate you need a really dark brown truck and white vinyl, zebra are actually not black. I tried to find a photo of a zebras rear end for you but the pattern comes together in a really cool way for each of the 2 main zebra species, burchells and hartmans.

...it was just a matter of selecting the areas with lasso tool (1 pixel feather) and upping the brightness and contrast so that I keep original shadows/hilights and reflections.

-Steven

Why not use the pen tool and draw a path(s) that you can save/reuse/edit? You can use the path(s) to create feathered selections. If you mess up on the lasso tool, you have to start over, right? Maybe you saved your selections as alpha channels? Looks top-notch, though. At work, I just had to crank out 5 ideas for a VW dealership's shuttle vehicles (Passat wagons). They're not near as convincing a Photoshop job as yours, but in my defense, I had to have them done quick :)

Go for it on the stripes. I'd use neon green and neon orange
