I originally thought the nylon cord on the table would be vulnerable to heat from the stove, but after several trips it has not been an issue. The cord - properly sized - is also strong enough to hold a 2-burner stove with cast-iron pan and full 2-liter pot.
Tugela, that table is nowhere near an Olivares table.

I'm still trying to figure out why one needs to carry around a full block of kitchen knives when car camping?:ack:
If you think the biggest difference between Tugela's table and the Marc and Ben tables is the knife holder and cylinder, you clearly don't get it.
Please tell us how it didn't fit your needs.
LOL, ok.
My goals were to replace the ratty stock door panel, retain the stock sub-woofer(if possible), make a shelf large enough for a two burner stove, and maximize internal storage capacity. I also wanted to keep it very simple and quiet(no rattling driving down the trail). That's why your table didn't fit my needs.
Peter, thanks for the suggestion and photo. If I need to replace the cord I'll consider that option.
The link you posted is about a Detroit locker on the front drive axle...
If anyone doesn't want to make their own table, here is another solution.
My work colleague owns this company and distributes these tables.
