That's your opinion, and you're welcome to it. That doesn't make it right.
Then live life as the salty dog, frankly, I could give two fucks.

No, you have certain vocabulary ticks that bleed thru in all 3 accounts I've identified. I'm sure there's a few more.
I hung two hummingbird feeders yesterday and they're already being visited.

last year i used pennington seed with that green roll out mat. it worked great BUT that mat doesnt really break down so it creates a thatch that killed the grass trying to come back.
since we are in a swamp i have to use a good seed mix for our region. a company in pennsyltucky makes a good blend that works great in my soil and climate BUT the nursery stopped selling it because people wouldn't pay the money for it. 50 pound white burlap sack of majic
I wish I could figure out how to get the weeds out of my yard. I don't really care about a perfect lawn, but that means more mowing. I'd just let it go for the most part, but I do have one neighbor, and they keep their yard looking great, so I don't want to let them down.
Everything was cool until I had it leveled, and they used top soil they'd removed from a field when building a road to do so.

I'm in the golf industry so not sure what's available for the home owner but a local co-op might be a good place to start.
In the golf industry, huh? We can all take a few pointers from one of the all-time greatest authorities on lawn care:
That's really not hard to do. Just figure out what weeds you're dealing with and proceed accordingly. Grassy weeds (crabgrass/goosegrass) apply a pre-emergent. Broadleaf there's multiple ways to go. Western Colorado.Where do you live? Nitrogen is the key here in the southeast and tall fescue. Don't buy scotts. Goto your nursery and buy the good shit. Around here they call it 'grass food'.
Western Colorado.
my problem is the sun, it burns too hot to keep the ground moist enough for the seeds to sprout. I've got my sprinklers running every hour on the hour during the day for 4 minutes at a time to try to keep some moisture around them to germinate...
