It's a rough one to noodle out, but with a monthly fuel cost of $800-$900 cutting that by 30%- 40% is attractive. Gas here is $1.38 per litre... ($4.92 per gal) and it isn't going down in price.

The investment is this.... In 5 years the truck will have a way higher value, (and life expectancy) with the 2.8 and 5 speed than it would with a replacement 4.6 (that just may blow up again, or at least need head gaskets).
