A few weeks back, I posted the problem with a fluid leak on the top of the steering box on my 1999 DII. I replaced the steering box and seals, and the leak remained. I have taken it to a shop who has attempted replacing the hoses as well as the o-ring seals. In fact, they have even had custom...
Looks like I may have a need to replace the Steering box on my 1999 DII. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being most difficult, how tough a job is this. Just trying to see if I can leverage my intermediate mechanical skills to save a few bucks. Qualified shops in this area are few to none...
First, Axel, thanks for not banning me. I am actually glad you cancelled the thread - it was getting out of hand. Second, let me appologize to all if this came across as being devious in any way. It certainly wasn't intended to be so. I held off a long time posting anything at all, because I...

Thanks,
Bud

link out one more time. At the very least, you can see Series II
Discoverys a very, very long way from the mall. These folks are on
the trip of a lifetime. And they are using the very best vehicle
for the job. But more...
Well, if I had $50k to spend on a vehicle, I would keep my 92RR and my 99D2 and assume those would be my trail rides. The LR3 was never designed to be an off road replacement for previous Discovery models. At least it doesn't appear so. Also, since none of us has had the opportunity to prove...
