There's no "black box" with this setup. The LS has the same firing order as the Rover V8 so the factory coils are used, the Rover throttle body and all the other Bosch F.I. stuff is adapted to the LS intake, the displacement is close enough that the original ECU plays along, I'd imagine maybe...
I noticed my '03 D2 with 250k running a rough while idling at a light. Made it to the office and killed it, then tried to restart. Starter would engage and attempt to turn the engine over but it seemed almost like it was hydrolocked. Bumped the starter a couple more times and it spun the engine...
You nailed it pretty much; these were military issue so if you find a ke-7a or the ks15-4 they're generally beat to hell. I'd save the money and just buy more M4's if I needed another.
I think what everyone is trying to get at is that if you're going to color match your interior, you need to put a little more effort into it... like this guy:

I've done it temporarily while waiting for the plastic line to come in and it held up fine. I don't see why they wouldn't last as long as they do in any other vehicle. I put a new plastic line on mine but my brakes still suck so I'm still searching for a cure.
I got one of those injector rebuild kits off of eBay for around $25. It came with all the o-rings, micro filters, and the little plastic end pieces, took about an hour to rebuild all 8 and I gotta say there was a huge improvement. Cured my misfires and P0174/71 codes.
Anyone tried to rebuild a LR jack? I always liked mine until it puked its guts up; I keep thinking about trying to rebuild it but just have too many other distractions to mess around with it.
I made it about 30 miles with from the time my M&S lights started flashing until my D2 coasted into the AutoZone parking lot. That was with two engine starts.
