    Lower control arm

Holy crap I should have done this a year ago...what a transformation. :applause: Probably won't go tell the parts store that those new rotors I put on last summer and then brought back because they were warped actually weren't...

    Lower control arm

I'm in the middle of doing this right now...used a gear puller to slide the axle out. All my bolts are seized so chopping and hacking my way through it - but the absolute worst thing was the lower balljoint just wouldn't pop out of the spindle. Holy crap...no amount of heat and hammering...

    Lower control arm

Holy crap...I love RN as much as the next guy, but man...$100 per side more than my dealer? That's a deal breaker... Edit: just re-read your post...lol. PM on its way... Pat

    Lower control arm

Any opinions on what arms to buy? I plan on buying complete arms and doing the swap myself...looking at Rockauto - 'Dorman' arms - $103?? Price is right...which is what I said about the brake rotors I'm about to replace for the third time in 1k miles... :banghead: Thanks, Pat

    D1 R380, S. Maine

If you can narrow down the number of differing pieces in your rigs support will be easier. And I have 2 R380s...one for each SIII!

LOL!!! Knew I should have switched screen names on the different boards. Busted. Can't wait to see it! Mustang came and took mine away a couple weeks ago - sad day. Wait, 9600 posts?!?!? Now you've got that Steamer you'll be too busy cleaning carbs every couple weeks to spend time here...

Sure. Bellhousing, tranny, x-fer case. Let me know when you're going to be around and I'll drop it off...just point me in the direction of the brewery. ;)

    D1 R380, S. Maine

Selling a nice looking R380 that I bought on Ebay for my '95 D1 and never got around to using. Hate that I can't vouch personally for it's true condition - I was told 'it's a good condition, used r380'. Don't want to screw anyone over, though, so I just have to say I don't know. The thing...

Viscous Fan Clutch - alternate part

Exactly. This is what mine looked like: One side. And the other. See that Schram...maybe you didn't have to be such a dick.

Viscous Fan Clutch - alternate part

Don't know anything about anything other than my '03 and my '95. My '03 had a one piece unit. No way to separate the center metal part from the outter fan blade part. I can take a pic of the one I pulled out if you'd like.

Viscous Fan Clutch - alternate part

Not if you have the one piece unit...or, I guess it will, but you'll also need to buy the fan blades, as well...

Viscous Fan Clutch - alternate part

Someone in another thread suggested one of these...worked like a champ for me: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00945570000P And which way around are your threads...does the '98 have serpentine or 'v' belts...

Viscous Fan Clutch - alternate part

Question about this - when reaming the holes, I'm guessing it's imperative that they get drilled out exactly to the size of the bolts? So the fan is exactly on center? Because I didn't seem to have a drill bit that matched up so I grabbed one that was close...and now I'm not really sure it's...

    DII Cooling Question

It has helped me...I broke a blade off my fan (no, the accessory plate/power steering pump will NOT fit between the fan and the long stud....in case anyone is wondering :ack: ) and in reading through the posts here I thought I could replace just the fan - couldn't find any of the 6mm allen bolts...

    DII Sump Gasket

I think you're right...just looking through the stuff I read this afternoon and they're all DIs. It had been leaking for a long time when I replaced the gasket last month. I used sealant where it said to in the book - by the seams on the front and rear. It leaked worse than ever then. I...

    DII Sump Gasket

Except that without the gasket there the holes are off by 1/8" or so...there's no way I can get the bolts back in...not without dropping the pan down some. I guess the 1/8" would just be taken up by the sealer...but the pan will be tight to the engine in the front and down in the back...

    DII Sump Gasket

I just finished doing the sump gasket on my '03...for the second time in 6k miles. This time I read through the posts that seemed to indicate using Right Stuff instead of the factory gasket. Since I'd used the factory gasket last time I figured I'd give the Right Stuff method a try. Anyone...

Why Land Rover will not bring back the Defender to USA

Big difference between getting a brand new vehicle under warranty and getting a 10 year old clean one for twice the price. For me, anyway.
