Have a D2 SE7 in Lexington with heads removed(still have them and other engine bits). Block is bad. $400
Headliner is removed but in decent condition.
Also have some spare brake pads and metal type valley pan gasket that
would go with it.
You tow it
Probably Super dumb question.
I pulled heads and pressure tested for slipped sleeve, and yes sleeve is slipped
In my haste, as well as trying to be safe around the kids, i didn't put the vehicle in neutral.
Now with all things disconnected, what is a good way to get the vehicle in...
I have a 2001 D2 with what I assume is a slipped sleeve (Exhaust in cooling system, and misfire in cylinder 3).
asking 1200 if you want a parts truck. My Craig's list post says bad heads, however per further investigation ie cylinder 3 misfire I am now thinking the aforementioned slipped...
01 D2 boiling coolant after 10ish miles and coming out of overflow tube. Temp Guage goes up when this happens. Did a pressure test with auozone rent a tool and held steady at 15psi for 20 min. Curious if anyone has seen a cracked block, heads, sleeves etc and still had the truck show good on a...
My front drivers side brake pads wear down extremely fast. curious what folks on here think it might be due to. The rotors looks OK and were changed not that long ago. My guess is a bad passenger side caliper causing the drivers side to do double time, but wanted to get the discoweb opinion.
So in the process of removing my radiator (on a 2001 disco II) I for the life of me couldn’t get the transmission cooler and oil cooler lines off of their applicable heat exchangers. The Rave is pretty vague as to how this is accomplished. I am assuming these are supposed to be quick...
I'm getting set to replace my Radiator on a 2001 disco 2. I have gone through the Rave/workshop manual steps and, although tedious, it all seems fairly straight forward. Just curious if anyone has any tips or tricks or good photos. Any help is appreciated.
So long story as to why, but I had to replace (really my mechanic did) my ignition and now I have one key to start my truck and another to open it. I am wondering if it is possible to reprogram a key fob myself or do I need to take it to a dealer or someone with testbook? I don't have a code...
So I just fixed the head gaskets on my D2 2001 (used RAVE had heads machined and pressure tested) but when I fill the coolant tank up I am getting a fairly significant drip between the engine block and the firewall on the RHS of the rover. I haven't had a chance to poke into it with a mirror...
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> Does anyone know where I can find the coil pack wire position vs cylinder number?
Finally putting the rest of my Disco engine back together and just wanted to make sure that...
Does anyone know what size the 4 bolts/screws that hold the ignition coil down are? While re-doing the head gaskets I noticed that whomever had the vehicle before me (I am assuming their mechanic) didn't put any bolts back into the ignition coil to hold it down so it has just been rattling...
Getting ready to do the head gaskets on my 2001 Disco SE7: I have purchased new head bolts, and a gasket set, downloaded and familiarized myself with the rave manual, and lastly found a machine shop that can resurface the heads. So now I just want to get a heads up from the disco web community...
