Jim, on my 96 D1 the jack is black and stored under the rear seat by the roof cross rails. I have fortunately never had to use it to change a flat but it does not seem to be as small as yours. Are you sure you have the original jack? Does anyone else have this jack?

Mine sticks and gets the WD-40 treatment about every 6 months. Has been that way for several years. No trouble with the mechanism breaking yet....

Spencer, I am having a similar problem on my D1. The ABS light comes on occasionally while driving,and also the ABS occasionally kicks in while braking on non-smooth surfaces(like rail road tracks) so I think I have a sensor issue also. Maybe someone could help us out...
