    Jack?

Jim, on my 96 D1 the jack is black and stored under the rear seat by the roof cross rails. I have fortunately never had to use it to change a flat but it does not seem to be as small as yours. Are you sure you have the original jack? Does anyone else have this jack?

    Should have knocked on wood..

Tom, here's an update-I solved the problem! Like you I had crawled under the truck and pounded on the whole exhaust system and everything seemed intact. After reading the posts from Chris and Eric I checked all the bolts and found several loose bolts on the pass side exhaust manifold. No more...

    Dry mouth?

The saliva substitute is a great idea and should help. Be careful with popsicles, candy, gum, etc that contain sugar. Your natural saliva has an antibacterial property that keeps tooth decay in check. If you soak your teeth in sugar all day without saliva-look out. Make sure all candy, gum is sugar...

    ABS sensor questions

Spencer, I am having a similar problem on my D1. The ABS light comes on occasionally while driving, and also the ABS occasionally kicks in while braking on non-smooth surfaces(like rail road tracks) so I think I have a sensor issue also. Maybe someone could help us out...

    Should have knocked on wood..

update Tom,here is an update. I tried Seafoam first and did not notice a difference. I have always used 93 octane since the disco was new. My noise sounds exactly like yours but it has slowly evolved. At first it was only under hard acceleration, but now it happens under light acceleration...

Specialized makes great bikes. I just upgraded from a rockhopper front suspension, which i rode for almost 10 years, to a stumpjumper FSR pro disc. It's an awesome bike but not cheap. You do get what you pay for and they last a long time.Check the web site, there is a line under the stumpjumper...

    my frustration continues...

Sounds like a real lemon. I have not had anywhere near that kind of trouble with mine. If you are on your second engine, now prob a new ******, leaking window, have you thought about selling it and getting another?

    Should have knocked on wood..

I have been hearing the same thing for a few weeks. Only under load with my foot into the gas. At first I thought it might be a cat rattling, but it could also be the valves. Anyone have any ideas?

    Insurance Question

You are getting hosed. Look for another insurance company. The liability portion of my insurance is relatively high,as the truck would probably do more damage in an accident than a smaller car. I pay slightly less than $100/month for a 96 Disco, which is almost the same as my 02 Mercedes and 04...

I agree with Musky. Salmon fishing on the Great lakes is fun, but nothing beats musky fishing in northern Wisconsin.
