How do you remove the steering shaft ujoint (closest to the box) Will it slide up far enough to clear the input shaft of the steering box? It is late and I just don't want to experiment at this point!! Thanks in advance..............it has been a long day of of nursing the old trucks...

Thought I had a bad u-joint (wish I had a bad u-joint), but upon further investigation I've found the problem to be "something" in the transfer case. Here's the story....
-bad vibration pretty much any speed over 20 mph
-terrible metalic noise when coming...
