Holy shit!
Buy that fucking thing!!!

I believe it's a 95 rather than a 96 as it's listed and as such is a 14CUX 3.9 car rather than a GEMS 4.0, but beyond that it's nearly perfect.

SD with cloth seats and a R380.
If it were white it would be a no brainer.

Post that ad up in the general or forsale section. Somebody here should by that disco1.

Actually, I just got off the phone with my wife. I am going to try and work out a deal with the owner. This car makes me tingle.

I know. but 5sp + CDL= cool?

more like,

R380+CDL+optional ABS+shorter overhang+field serviceable driveline+more tolerant engine management+better cooling system+more reliable HVAC+better aftermarket...

I think both are good options, one leaves you more play money depends on what youre buying and trying to build up to..

JSQ is on point, as always..

So,

The last few months I have been looking around for a series I Disco. Not much luck. They're out there, but I haven't found one that fits. Reason in wanting a Series I is... look, off-road ability, I know how to work on them (sort of), and I have the cash to buy one out-right.

Sadly to say, after talking to my wife, we have decided to stay away from older cars. we need something that's newer, more reliable, still can cruise comfortably on a high way and is a safe vehicle for children. Don't have any yet but you never know when stuff like that can happen.

We have a 2008 Saturn Vue. No payments. Full warranty. That?s my wife's car. I am driving a 90s Subaru and dying to drive a Rover again. So, after some thinking, some talking, and some test-driving, the question is this: I am pleased with both the 2004 Disco (CDL) and the 2005 LR3, which one is the better move?

F.Y.I.

I did a search for similar topics. Couldn't really find what I was looking for. So please be nice.:(

You have strayed from your roots, my son.

That Range Rover is very nice. I am not a big fan of the Range Rovers. I think they look like metal slugs.

Eriazon, if that DI on craiglist were on the east coast, I think you and I would have a bidding war on it, just kidding, it seems to be a good vehicle. I would definately buy it too.

96 DI manual tranny with less than 90k miles, must have been a sweet old lady only driving to church and KFC on it. I would carry it to a reputible mechanic/garage and make sure everything is as the listing says it is.

I remember seeing someone on this site that had an off road trailer for sale that would be pretty sweet looking behind your newly acquired DI.

Cheers

Well. Conversation went as follows:

Me: So we want to get this rover in Rocklin?

Wife: Is it a good deal?

Me: ......yeah.

Wife: How often would you take it out on the trail?

Me: ........

Wife: Would you "mob" or whatever the hell you call it?

Me: Its "mod"

Wife: Would it last 10 years?

Me: Yeah.....maybe....

Wife: Wouldn't a new one be better?

Me: Well,

Wife: Lets keep looking.

Me: ..............................ok.

So. Still looking for a 2004.

That 99 D1 in the classifieds is one of the nicest D1's I've seen in a while. The 95 or 96 you're looking at is pretty fine, too.

What about this truck?

The 3.5 litre can be a hard engine to live with if you're driving it every day.

I think the RRCs have the best looking lines of any Land Rover product to date hands down.
